This is a good example of how crazy the GOP has become. It mocks the person they claim was the greatest president of the last 30 years: Ronald Reagan.
People like Bachmann, Palin, and Cantor obviously know nothing about governing like an adult nor what their party's hero said about raising the debt ceiling (HINT: It's the same as what President Obama is saying.)
The GOP has become so disconnected from reality, it now mocks President Reagan's words.
Ronald Reagan’s September 26, 1987 radio address,
"Congress consistently brings the Government to the edge of default before facing its responsibility. This brinkmanship threatens the holders of government bonds and those who rely on Social Security and veterans benefits. Interest rates would skyrocket, instability would occur in financial markets, and the Federal deficit would soar. The United States has a special responsibility to itself and the world to meet its obligations. It means we have a well-earned reputation for reliability and credibility – two things that set us apart from much of the world."
Michele Bachmann claims NOTHING bad will happen if we do not raise the debt ceiling, and Palin has agreed with her idiocy. Neither of these two Tea Baggers knows what they're talking about, yet the GOP is embracing Bachmann and may very well nominate her to represent it. And it should. Who better to be the symbol of everything that is obscenely insane about today's GOP.
